Today we’re talking about content strategy, because if there’s one thing I recommend you look at as we go into the second half of 2023, it’s whether or not your content is doing most of your selling for you.
Because like it or not, it should be.
Especially if you’re truly looking to build a freedom-based business.
Whenever we talk about content in the online space, most people are teaching you how to go viral, how to get more followers, how to get more views and so on…
YES, you absolutely need eyes on your content, but I promise you, if you start to create content that activates your audience to buy, then you’ll start to sell to the existing audience that you already have.
This year alone, just 7 months into the year, we’ve brought in over $250,000 into our business which is more than we did in the entire of 2022.
Whilst we definitely upleveled several areas of our business over the last 12 months, a lot of our success comes down to content and so today I want to share with you exactly what got us there so you can replicate this kind of success.
So, what goes into this multiple six figure content strategy? And how can you recreate a similar content strategy that works hard for you to drive results?
I know you hear this everywhere and might be rolling your eyes reading this, however I attribute so much of my content’s success to the fact that we never gave up.
We’ve posted every single week for the past 3.5 years and this is something that I see in common with all of the successful online business owners out there.
When you show up, even if no one’s voting on your polls, when no ones buying, even when you’re on the brink of throwing in the towel, you lay the foundations for your future six figure self.
Because there are soooo many silent buyers in your audience…lurking, waiting for the right time for them.
Any content strategy needs to be fuelled by a sales goal. Your marketing and content strategy is the how behind getting there.
It’s crazy to me how many business owners don’t know what they’re going to be selling each month, or even on the day of posting. They open up the Instagram app and hope for the best and it’s clear to all of your followers that you’re not really sure what you’re selling.
And that results in crickets.
I recommend that if you don’t know what you want to sell right now, then this is the first place you need to start.
Plus, having a sales focus doesn’t mean you can’t sell other offers, I sold multiple offers in June and July this year. It just means that you can be really intentional about what kind of content you’re putting out there and most importantly you can plan and batch in advance without the overwhelm.
If you’ve followed me on social media for a while, you’ll have noticed I speak a LOT about value based selling.
Value based selling is the art of “selling without selling” and is a great way to sell your offers without having to worry about things like launching several times a year. This is perfect if you’re a service-based business who offers done for you packages and are operating an agency-style model of business, and also if you’re just the type of person who hates launching and finds it exhausting.
When you lead with a value-based approach, you don’t need to always be ramming your offer down your audience’s throat and you can sell every single day in a way that feels really good and doesn’t just sound like “buy my offer now, because the price is going up”.
And finally, you need systems.
I don’t just mean using tools and automations, I mean building a framework and system that works for you.
