I don’t know the exact figure – but IG stories ALONE have brought in THOUSANDS of £ into my business. ?
In fact, last week I decided to show up once to talk about an offer… that one story brought me in £500… and took me 5 minutes to create!
Of course, I’m not saying you can just show up once and start making sales… but if you’re able to consistently and strategically show up – you can book out your services through the power of stories.
In today’s Blog I’m going to be talking about some of the common mistakes I see new business owners making on IG stories and how to fix them so you can start using them to your advantage to attract clients and make sales.
If you would rather watch the YouTube video instead? Here it is!
If you’re building a personal brand then you NEED to be showing up on video! It helps you to stand out, your audience can get to know you and build that trust with you. After all, people buy from people that they know, like & trust. And if you’re constantly hiding behind graphics, you might find it harder to create that connection.
I see SO many new business owners shying away from speaking on video and this can really hold them back from growing.
I get it – it can be scary – but it becomes easier the more you do it. After all speaking into your phone doesn’t always come naturally at first, but I promise you’ll build your confidence over time!
It’s great to share other people’s posts on IG stories to show that you agree or to show your support. HOWEVER – this should be minimal. 99% of your content posted on stories should be ORIGINAL.
Your audience have followed YOU to hear from YOU. Not to see you repost everyone else’s content.
If all you do is repost other peoples content, or repost IG story challenges or those ‘this or that’ games – your audience will soon lose interest and stop watching or might even unfollow you.
Are you consistently showing up on stories with valuable content that’s relevant to your audience? Do you even KNOW who you’re targeting?
If you’re still unsure who you’re directing your content towards – this should be your number 1 priority because without having this clarity, none of your content will make sense. If you want some help figuring out who you’re targeting – sign up to my free Biz Clarity course ( link in description)
So how can you provide value on IG stories? Mini trainings, tutorials, behind the scenes, sharing experiences, sharing opinions – all of this content can be engaging if you keep it relevant to your ideal clients and this keeps them coming back for more!
Ok, so everything we’ve talked about up until now will be totally pointless and irrelevant if you miss out this last step.
Once you’ve built up the know, like and trust factor with your audience through your stories – it’s time to sell!
Talking about your products and services is essential as a business – and if you’re not doing this you’re literally leaving money on the table.
If a potential client is watching your stories, really loves what you do and needs more help – YOU need to be explaining to them how you can help them otherwise they might not reach out!
If you fix these 4 mistakes and start consistently sharing high quality stories on Instagram – you’ll be well on your way to making consistent SALES in your online business.
